A customer has asked if its possible to change the location of where the temporary print outs from ATE go, currently these ate going to a APEX folder in "My Documents" and are called something on the lines if b56765-1.prt, b56766-1.prt etc
Mine here goes to: C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\My Documents\APEX
But the customer in question has My Documents for all the users stored on the server, and for a few users the My Documents is actually stored on an encrypted USB drive, today the Managing Director forgot his USB drive (ops) and found he got an error cant create Apex folder etc when trying to print, also they said there no point clogging up the server/backups with these.
is there a nice hidden setting ive missed to point these else where, say to the local PC's temp folder etc?
Thanks.

With a little hunting I see you can do this by setting an environment variable called APEX and then point it to where you want, is there any other way ive missed?

How many ways do you want?
I'm impressed that you found that, since it doesn't appear in the list of environment variables in the Dev Guide. (Ty?)
But I suppose what you're getting at is whether there is a way to change that location centrally on the server, rather than have to define an environment variable on each client?
I suppose we could add a TAB(-10,AG_APEXDIR) function to set it. Or perhaps a TAB(-10,AG_SETENV) to set the environment variable?

Indeed it's getting a bit crowded in there.

Too confined Herman Thanks Jack, TAB(-10,AG_SETENV) works well. If possible, at a convenient time in next x days create a new ATE build for us. - Thanks.
