A-Shell 7.0 Release Notes

1760.0.1

(ATE) ASHNET2.DLL 2.6.213 introduces preliminary support for two-factor authentication. Requires ASHNET2.DLL 2.6.213+ and ATECFX.SBX 4.4(185)+ on the ATE client side, and a package on the server that interfaces with an external authenticator app on the client. As of this release it has only been tested with CentOS/RHEL 7 and the google-authenticator app.

To enable on ATE client side, check the new MFA option, plus the Login Dialog option, in Login panel of the ATE configuration dialog. This will pop up a dialog prior to attempting the connection where you can enter the verification code (mostly likely from a smart-phone app), which will then be passed to the authentication app on the server side.

1740.0.6

ATE refinement: ATECACHE directory now retains files for 96 hours after the last access as an optimization to reduce excess cache transfers. Previously the entire directory was cleared after the last ATE session the local machine exited.

1680.3

Atesetup: if the $HOME/atesetup directory exists, don't look in $MIAME/atesetup, even if the $HOME/atesetup directory is empty. Previously it was terminating the search only if the $HOME/atesetup directory contained files.

1680.2

Atesetup: patch in 1678.0 to use the FTP2 instead of FTPDLX for the file transfer was causing problems with ATE clients older than edit 1370.

1677.0.3

Refinement to ATE Switch MIN.

1677.0.2

Add ATE Switch ZATE

1677.0.1

Add ATE Switch LOGINTEXT.

1670.1

Auto-enable the secure password in the ATE configuration dialog.

1668.0.1

Refinement: streamline the delivery of type 2 server-based ATE licenses to the client. This shaves dozens of milliseconds from the initial handshake, and eliminating one source of intermittent licensing failures.

1625.0.1

ATE-related server-side enhancement: .msi packages are now supported along with .exe files in the A-Shell startup search for updates from the %MIAME%/atesetup directory.
