A-Shell Reference

There is no particular limit to the length of setdef when running in text mode or in local Windows, but in the ATE environment, the default maximum length is 3072 bytes. Beyond that, you may be better off using a control such as XTREE. But if you can expand that limit using the AG_BUFSIZ command. The buffer size specified must be large enough to handle all of the arguments of INFLD, which in this context usually just means the maximum size of setdef, plus perhaps another 1K to handle the rest of the parameters.
