Auto Pitch |
(equivalent to PITCH=AUTO) This is a very handy and recommended option that causes ATE to examine the output in order to select an appropriate font size so that the lines fit across the width of the page. |
CPP |
(Columns Per Page) This influences the way Auto Pitch works. If left blank, ATE will select a font large enough to make the longest line in the output fill the width of the page. For narrow reports, that could result in a rather large font. To avoid that situation and to simulate the "typical" report format, most people set the CPP value to 80, which causes the font to be no bigger than would be needed to fit 80 characters across the page. |
Wide |
This is like CPP except that it comes into play when the length of the longest line in the output is more than the value specified in the CPP field. If left blank, then the font will be as small as is needed to fit the longest line on the page. Otherwise, the font will be set to fit the specified number of characters on the page. For example, if CPP=80 and Wide=132, all reports will come out in one of two font sizes, depending on whether the length of the longest line is greater than 80. |
LPP |
This sets the number of lines per page by adjusting the height of the font and the line spacing so that the specified number of lines will vertically fit. |
Prefix, Suffix |
These allow you to specify files to be sent before and/or after each print request. This is an advanced technique; see Printer Configuration in the A-Shell Setup Guide for more details. |
