ZTERM

Auto wrap: Selects what to do when a character is written to the rightmost column (either 80 or 132 depending on mode). If checked, the cursor will move to column 1 on the next row and scroll the screen if required. If unchecked, the cursor will remain at column 80 until a carriage return or line feed moves it.

Display errors: If this option is checked and the host computer sends a command to ZTERM 2000 that isn't understood, the offending command will be displayed on the screen.

New line: Selects what to do when a line-feed character is received. Most systems send both a carriage return and line feed character to tell the terminal to move to the start of the new line, however, a few systems send only a line feed. If this option is checked, ZTERM 2000 will automatically translate a line feed character into a carriage return and line feed pair.

Low background color: If this option is checked, ZTERM 2000 will automatically reduce the brightness of background colors. Often PC monitors display background colors too brightly, which result in eye strain. If you have difficulty reading screens, try checking this option.

Local Echo: Sets the echo mode. When connecting to most host systems, the host is responsible for echoing the characters back to the terminal. If this option is checked, ZTERM 2000 will echo the characters locally. This is sometimes needed if the modem connection to the host is "half-duplex".

Brighten low intensity: This option makes low intensity colors brighter. Often, PC monitors display low intensity colors with too little brightness which can result in eye strain. If you have difficulty reading screens, you may want to try checking this option.

Full Screen on Startup: If this option is selected, ZTERM 2000 will switch to full screen mode automatically when starting.

Fast Display: This option selects the rate at which ZTERM 2000 processes screen display information. If you use applications a lot, this option should be checked as it will result in faster displays. If you use the operating system and scrolling displays, unchecking this option will result in a smoother display. See Fast Display.

Full Screen Switch Res: If this option is checked, when switching into full screen mode with a screen resolution greater than 800x600, ZTERM 2000 will automatically switch to 800x600 to ensure that the entire screen is filled. When switching back to normal window mode, the screen resolution will be restored. This option is only used with bitmap fonts.

Full Screen Black Border: If this button is checked, when ZTERM 2000 is switched to full-screen mode, the screen background will be drawn in black. This results in a very attractive display.

Disable black border: Checking this option removes the 1-pixel black border that ZTERM draws around the edge of the emulation window. Most people will prefer to have it enabled since it makes reading the text on the emulation window a little easier.

Alternate Blink: If this option is selected, ZTERM 2000 will blink by switching the foreground and background color. Unchecked, blinking is performed in the traditional manner by turning display of the text on and off; many people find alternate blinking easier to read.

Auto-hide toolbar in full screen: Check this button to have ZTERM automatically hide the toolbar when it's not being used in full-screen mode. To show the toolbar again, simply move the cursor to the top of the screen and the toolbar will re-appear.
