General GDI Printing Information

Scroll Prev Top Next More

When GDI Printing is first enabled, the GDI engine defaults to the monospaced Courier New font at 11 point. Depending on the paper size, this font will typically be able to print 80 characters with about 63 lines per page.

All GDI engine escape sequences are simply embedded into the stream being sent to the PC - this information is not displayed on the screen and the top status line (if applicable) displays "GDI".

If an individual escape sequence requires one or more parameters, these are always comma separated and terminated with a null character. Additionally, whenever data is sent from the PC back to the host computer, it is comma separated where appropriate and terminated with a carriage-return to allow easy pickup with the BASIC INPUT statement.
