Many terminals have a printer port allowing the host system to generate hardcopy output without having to tie up a serial port. When the host system needs to print via the terminal, an escape sequence is sent that selects and de-selects the printer port.
ZTERM 2000 can either print directly to the printer port (Passthrough mode) or on 32-bit Windows operating systems can emulate a dot matrix printer, allowing host generated output to be printed on any printer supported by Windows.
ZTERM 2000 also supports direct GDI printing. This allows host based applications to control the Windows print engine directly.
ZTERM 2000 also supports print spoolers on the host system on both serial and telnet connections. For serial connections, a special AMOS device driver and passthrough printing is used. For telnet connections, ZTERM 2000 includes a standard LPD server.
