Does Zterm 2000 support XP Home?

Thanks.

From our experience, ZTerm 2000 works fine with XP Home. The only hurdles you are going to encounter are related to networking.
Because you cannot identify yourself to a Windows domain, you don't necessary have all the priviledges to access the network. So, if ZTerm interacts with a mapped drive from a server (storing and retrieving files), you could run into some problems of security and accessibility... XP Pro is a better choice in such an environment.
But we have seen that if we work with UNCs instead of mapped drives, you could get by in most cases... Hope it helps

Thanx for the feedback, Denis.

From what i gather, we cannot even get zterm to run thru its setup program to even install. Perhaps it is a flawed CD, or PC, or both... But since you have said it ought to work, we will entertain sending a new CD... i will report the error if it still happens... Thanks again.

Still having a problem with this one particular PC. We have sent an updated CD and tried to load zterm from their website. When clicking on the setup program, she gets the following:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.
The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows Applications.
Choose Close to Terminate application.

It seems like perhaps a problem with the version of windows on this box... but any additional help on this would be greatly appreciated... (and certainly worthy of a Pint or 2) cool

I found this on Microsoft's website. Maybe it will help you resolve the problem:

MS Help and Support

BTW, I run AlphaLAN on Windows XP Home PCs with no problems. Well, none like the ones you've described.

I've had that happen to one of my PC's (never was sure, but I think it was installation of some Norton product that seemed to have done it). I've also had it reported about 3 times in the last 3 years. The solution referenced by Steven Shatz above has worked in all cases.
