Hi All

I have a problem in that the editor won't recognise a new ersatz.
R11BL:=DSK11:[77,2]
If I select 'Open File' it doesn't show in the list at all.
If I check the 'Show Invalid Paths' option then it appears as invalid.

The previous one I was using works fine.
R10BL:=DSK10:[77,2]
The Full Path for this one maps as L:\vm\miame\dsk10\077002 and the one that doesn't work is L:\vm\miame\dsk11\077002.
The dsk11 ppn does exist (and contains some files) and I can navigate to it with Win Explorer from my pc.

I have tried R11BL:=DSK10:[77,2] - thats fine.
Also tried R11BL:=DSK12:[77,2] - invalid.
R11BL:=DSK13:[77,2] and R11BL:=DSK14:[77,2] and R11BL:=DSK19:[77,2] - all invalid.

Anything over dsk10: seems to be a problem.

Editor is 1.6.118.69

Hello Barry,

The Devices/Ersatz recognized by the Editor are based on the MIAME associated to the current Project and the ERSATZ file defined in the MIAME, which you can access using the top buttons as illustrated below.

I don't use the same MIAME file for my development area and the Editor, which means that, if I add any device/ersatz in the development area that is needed for the Editor, I must adjust both.

Please, let me know if this solves the issue.

Hi Jorge

I do use the same ersatz files for the editor and development ashell. I also used the Editor buttons to access and change the ersatz files.

As I said the Editor does see the new definition as it is displayed in the Editors "Open File" option with "Show Invalid Paths" option checked.

The new ersatz is in the same file as the old one which does work.

Hi Barry,

Did you add DSK11 as a device in miame.ini?

I was able to get the same results by creating an ersatz that didn't use a real device.

Hi Stephen

Yes DSK11 exists - I've used it for some time just not for programs (and therefore not with the Editor).

I can access files on R11BL: (its a Linux system with Samba shared directory) via Windows Explorer from my pc (which also runs the Editor) as L:\vm\miame\dsk11\077002.

DSK10 is setup in exactly the same way, on the same Linux system, and that works fine.

Ah! Got it!

You were almost there Stephen - thanks.

Although I do use the Ashell ersatz files in the Editor I don't use the miame.ini file to define the devices to the Editor... and I hadn't defined dsk11 in my substitute file. Stopped at dsk10.

Thanks all.

Good!

That's also how I do it. Unfortunately it's a bit of a pain, but I guess a necessary evil. I'll pretty much do anything to no have to use VUE as my main programming environment.
