5.0.988.0 is now available in complete release packages for most flavors. For A-Shell/Windows, you can also use the ASHUPD.LIT released with 987.1 to update more quickly. (If you want to use the latest version of ASHUPD, which displays the list of modules to be updated, you can download it first from to do the update, you can download it from ASHUPD.LIT 1.1(103) For ATE, you can do the update using the ASHUPD.RUN utility (as well the the "traditional" methods).

Congratulations Jack.
It's working perfectly and with an excellent look. This is also a good example for what the UpdateCenter itself should do, hopefuly soon.
Thanks for making our lives a lot easier with this update method.

Frank, it's taking me less than a minute to do all the updates to Windows products. For me, that's A-Shell, ATE, Editor, and SOSLIB. This is over a residential cable connection so YMMV. Still, multiple 5.5M (full release?) updates in so short a period of time is very nice.
Yesterday (I think) I did all the Windows updates at once. I went to get a cup of coffee and by the time I got back the update windows were gone. The only thing I'd add would be a configuration option to allow for a close button instead of a timer to close the window. Maybe something like UPDATER=WAIT and UPDATER=TIMER could be added to miame.ini?
Part of today's update has been delayed, though. The Linux version has no updater yet so I'll do that tonight.
BTW, it's RUN ATEUPD to update ATE.

thanx for the encouragement... honestly i figured by the time i implemented the auto-update that 5.0 would be frozen, and i would have no immediate needs for auto-update!

If anyone needs more practice, I just posted 988.2 updates to the Update Center for A-Shell/Windows, ATE, and the SOSLIB.
