As for the issue here, it's quite a pain to find and open a file from the projects window without it being properly sorted.
Another issue here with Samba is that "add magic folder" uses an annoying dialog that forces you to traverse a to the path. The issue is that it doesn't include shared paths. i.e. shares with a $ suffix.
Both of these issues seem like bugs in PN2 that should be patched for pushing upstream rather than just for APN
