Hi everyone!!

Does anyone have experience sending messages to WhatsApp directly from an A-Shell program?

Greeting to all.

Hi René, again,
I guess you must subscribe some third party service.

I've searched for that a few years ago and there were no API available and the services were very complex to handle.
I believe now it would be easier, but almost sure paid.

More fun to come

There's at least one web service API provider that advertises as free - Growby
It looks like you have to register as a Meta Developer, after which you can tap into their Postman API, which like many other web service APIs has a lot of options and level to wade through, but they do have examples that can be executed via curl commands.

There are various commercial (paid) API providers with prices in the vicinity of $30/month for unlimited messaging.

Hi Jorge and Jack,

After answering a bunch of questions, it turns out that I already have a Whatsapp number and that I'd need a brand new number to link with Growby and the Meta API. Probably others providers will be very similar.

From my point of view the process is still complicated and it's anything but straighforward in the way we probably want it: xcall WHATSAPP, number$, message$, status (oversimplfying, of course).

Once I have a brand new phone to connect exclusively to Whatsapp Business then - at last - I would be able to take a closer look to the API and from this point, examine how easy or difficult is to send the messages.

I'll keep searching but I'm amazed how complicated is this thing at the moment.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Best regards.

René.
