If you have a printed manual that accompanies your host based software product and have converted it to Adobe Acrobat format, you can modify the ZTERM 2000 installation to include a toolbar button and menu item to launch the Acrobat viewer and your file.
If you want to use this feature you need to:
• | Get your documentation into Acrobat format and get it well indexed. |
• | Install ZTERM 2000 into a new folder |
• | Add your .PDF file to the ZTERM 2000 folder. You can also add your splash bitmap (ZTERM.BMP), GDI printing bitmaps and any other files you might need. |
• | Add the following to the registry entries to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\COOL.STF\ZTERM for Windows\Product" as part of your setup (see the InstallShield Express documentation for details). All values must be defined as REG_SZ. These values will be cloned to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\COOL.STF\ZTERM for Windows\Configurations hive when a profile is created with the profile wizard. |
• | DocumentationPDF=file-name.pdf |
• | DocumentationMenu=Text to put on the Help Menu |
• | DocumentationTooltip=Tooltip for the toolbar |
• | Use InstallShield Express to re-generate the ZTERM 2000 setup. You can obtain the .IWZ file needed to do this from the download page where you obtainied the ZTERM distribution. |
ZTERM also supports an enhanced application support system - setup is pretty close to the simple method documented here, but requires some escape sequences sent from the host for configuration purposes.
