FTP File Transfer Settings |

When transferring files over a network connection, the File Transfer Protocol is used. FTP is a common protocol between many systems and offers the best possible throughput on a network connection (either hardwired or via Dial-Up Networking). This dialog configures the file transfer feature in ZTERM 2000. User name and password: Enter your FTP user name and password into thess field. Check with your System Administrator if you are unsure of your FTP credentials. FTP Directory Information: When connecting to a host Alpha Micro AMOS system, ZTERM 2000 can download the directory tree information. This process is performed in a separate thread, so that it doesn't interfere with normal ZTERM 2000 use. Once the directory tree has been retrieved, ZTERM 2000' FTP client can browse disks and PPNs on the AMOS system using a Windows Explorer style interface. This feature is only available when connecting on an Alpha Micro host system with AlphaTCP 1.3C or later. Never retrieve: If this button is selected, ZTERM 2000 never download the AMOS directory tree. Use this option if you don't want to browse AMOS disks from ZTERM 2000. Retrieve once per session: If this button is selected, ZTERM 2000 download the AMOS directory tree once per connection to the host. This is the default setting. If directories are created on the host, they will not be displayed until the connection is closed and re-opened. Retrieve on each connection: If this button is selected, ZTERM 2000 will download the AMOS directory tree each time a connection is made to the host system. Although the directory tree will be "up-to-date", this process may slow down your connection. Don't delete when putting: Normally, ZTERM 2000 deletes files that exist on the host system when transferring to the host using the FTP protocol. This is required for compatibility with certain FTP servers, especially the one on AMOS. This option should be checked when using a Unix host in order to preserve any attributes that may be associated with the file (such as ownership). Prompt for FTP Server: By default, ZTERM 2000 connects to the FTP server on the host system you're currently connected to. If you want to use ZTERM 2000' FTP client with another server, check this field and you'll be prompted for the server name each time you open an FTP connection. |
