Safe Disconnect |
Top Previous Next |
Obviously it's a bad idea if a user connected via telnet and locked a bunch of records and then disconnected. To try to prevent this occurring, ZTERM can automatically display a warning message if the user tries to close the telnet connection (or close ZTERM). However, there is often a "safe" place in the application where it's totally acceptable to close the connection. By using Safe Disconnect (the "Safe" tab in the Configuration sheet), you can specify a string that appears when it's OK for users to disconnect - a logon screen for example. If this string is on the screen at the specified row and column, ZTERM 2000 will disconnect without any further dialogs. Depending on the configuration, if the string is not on the screen, the user will be either be asked if they really want to disconnect (with No as the default) or be prompted for a password if ZTERM 2000 has been configured this way. |
