Connecting with Dial-Up Networking

Scroll Prev Top Next More

If the host system you want to connect to is located on a remote network and the remote network supports dial-up connections, ZTERM can automatically dial into the network for you by using the Dial-Up Networking services provided by Windows.

Once connected via Dial-Up Networking (also known as Remote Access Service or RAS), the PC becomes part of the network, allowing telnet connectivity to the host system. Additionally, all normal network functions, such as file and printer sharing, can be used.

Dial-Up Networking is "the next best thing" to being directly wired to a network. Multiple copies of ZTERM 2000 can be launched over a Dial-Up Networking connection, which allows multiple sessions on the host computer.
