Upload Serial Transfer Program

Scroll Prev Top Next More

Because there is no "standard" method of transmitting files over a serial connection, ZTERM 2000 uses it's own unique scheme. However, this requires that a file-transfer program be running on the host system.

This can cause a problem -- you want to use file transfer over the serial port, but the transfer program isn't on the host computer, therefore you can't use file transfer.

To solve this problem, the Upload button will transfer the file transfer program over to the host system using a slow but reliable manner. Once the transfer program has been sent over the system, you can use the normal file transfer options.

Before pressing this button, make sure that:

You're connected to the host system
The host system is at the AMOS prompt
You have the AlphaBASIC runtime program, BASIC.LIT, installed on your host

The transfer takes up to five minutes to complete, but only needs to be done once for each host system that you connection to.

Note: Serial transfer is only supported on AMOS systems. If you connect to a Unix machine, connect via the network and use FTP file transfer.
